"The Blossom of the Mother is the Child,"
But barren can she never be, for she embraces all that is
Within her compass all are born,
And all are woven in her summer shawl
Of fresh new green, and tender bud,
Each many-coloured feathered ball ...!
And we her children weave our dreams
As much a part of her eternity,
As vital to the tapestry
Of life, of growth,
As she!
We are reborn each day, each breath ...
Revitalises and restores
Reminds us of our sacred Source
Within, without, for We are One
And that is All!
Minette writes: “… the photo … is of a wonderful hawthorn on the outer
ring of a massive stone circle not far from my home, known locally as 'The Ring of the Rath' (Rath is said Raa, though people
say Rath as in Maths when it appears in a combination like Rathmines as a place name). It is known more formally as Rath Gall
as it certainly was a Ring Fort, a seat of the Kings of Leinster, no doubt, back in the dim distant past and you can see a
vast ring of hills all round it when you stand on the wall on a clear day. In fact there are two concentric circles, the inner
one is still fairly intact and was cleaned up by the Board of Works back in the 80's. I was up there with some FOI visitors
last year with my new camera and took the photo. There are certainly fairies up there, I have felt them! I call it Fairy Headquarters
for our area, but that is just me, of course, The real Fairy Headquarters for the whole of Ireland is Tara.”
