Three cards were drawn, for the three rays of the Druid symbol, "Awen".
Card #1. Puffball. Meanings: Mystery, inner-connections.
Fungi grow in the dark, the cauldron of creation, germination, initiation and inspiration. Fungi are both individuals and
part of a collective, as they are connected up by unseen delicate threads in a vast network. This seems like the DCOD! They
are also the tools of the Shaman, yet through the Druid Oracle, we can tune into the plants directly, in a 21st
century way.
Fungi appear at night, when we are in our dreamtime, where inspiration encoded in symbols rises up from the collective
unconscious. This gives us our ‘Eureka moments’.
Message: This quarter, pay attention to your dreams and any guidance they give you, or problems
they help you solve. Druids in the past always paid close attention to dreams as guides.
Card #2. Vervain. Meanings: Reconciliation, Awen, Magic.
The Druidic Awen is an expansive concept. It has been described as the flowing spirit. Chanting the Awen gives a feeling
of ‘internal yoga’, an unclogging of the physical, mental, and etheric as the magic runs through us and out into
nature. Let the magic in!
Reconciliation is not easy. Is there something we need to reconcile within ourselves? Sometimes the word suggests restoring
friendships and relationships, but it can also mean looking at a particular person or situation that is not good for us, or
won’t change, and reconciling ourselves to moving on.
Message: Do we need a psychic and physical detox over the next quarter? Do we need to unclutter
(our home, our books collection, our life?) so that the cleansing Awen energies can run through? Are there people who we can
settle our differences with, swallowing pride of necessary? Or are they too negative, never going to cooperate or stop throwing
their toys out of the pram. If so, accept that and move on.
For the Druid Clan of Dana generally, Vervain suggests a new phase.
Card #3. Wheat (reversed). Reversed Meaning: Restlessness, seeking roots, wanderlust.
Wheat is the card of the harvest. How can we give our energy to the later harvest if we are ‘all over the place’?
Wheat sustains, and is the universal symbol of the cycles of the wheel of the year – remember Osiris.
Message: Do we need to settle down for a while and focus on our goals, so that we can reap the
rewards of our efforts?
Seeking our roots is part of the esoteric journey. Have you been too scatter-gun in your approach. Are you restless for
the wisdom of the ancients? Take one path at a time; it’s an easier and more rewarding journey!
