Grove of Cerridwen and the Grael Morgaine, Ardbandraoi Portsmouth,
Hants, UK
Morgaine,
Ardbandraoi of Grove of Cerridwen and the Grael, Portsmouth, Hants, UK writes: “I am delighted
to welcome Debbie Heaton-King, who got initiated in July 2009. Debbie has been a long standing member of the Druid Community
in Portsmouth and the UK for a number of years, and has in the past also been Archdruidess of the Insular Order of Druids
and Loyal Arthurian Warband, thus I feel she is more than qualified to fulfil the role as Ardbandraoi of the Druid Clan of
Dana. She is currently doing a lot of work for the Earth Stewardship Alliance and International Court of the Environment.
I would also like to make mention of Xavier Avis, who has got initiated into the Druid Clan of Dana also in July 2009
as a Draoi (Druid). Thomas Brown was initiated into the Druid Clan of Dana on the Autumn Equinox
as a Draoi (22 September). I am very pleased to be able to introduce Lois Lloyd (Andraste) of the Sacred
Grove, UK. Lois is currently
doing a lot of environmental work for the Earth Stewardship Alliance and International Court of
the Environment, plus for her own Sacred
Grove. Lois has been a Druid for
many years, being previously involved in the Loyal Arthurian Warband and Druid Order of Tamaris." Make Your Own Sistrum
I have come up with an inventive
means of making your own sistrum if folks are strapped for cash. Trying to obtain a modern day sistrum is a bit problematic,
though you can stumble across them on EBay (type in rattle under search or sistrum). However it may be cheaper to make your
own as follows, this isn’t exactly brilliant but in the times of the credit crunch it’s cheap and cheerful and
does the job just as well.
You will need two tea strainers of the same design, some small beads, glue, elastic
bands and some paint if you wish to decorate.
Fill one of the tea strainers with beads (but don’t overfill),
and glue both the tea strainers together. Use an elastic band to keep the handles together whilst it dries. Then you can paint
in gold or silver with any design you like.
Simple but effective! About the Ardbandraoi:
Morgraine is a Priestess Hierophant in the Fellowship of Isis and is also Archdruidess of the Berengaria Order of Druids.
In addition to this, she is also an Ardbandraoi of the Druid Clan of Dana and Dame Commander of the Noble Order of Tara, and
Bards of the Gorsedds of Caer Abiri and Cor Gawr.
She has her own Lyceum or teaching centre in the Fellowship of
Isis, called Isis and Sekhmet of the Stars, which aims to teach and train initiates, leading to the priesthood.
The Berengaria Order of Druids was founded in 1996, at the time of the summer solstice and they are full
members of the Council of British Druid Orders. The link to the Berengaria Order of Druids website can be found at

Morgraine has always had a fascination with the mysteries ever since she was young.
Her late father’s side of the family are all spiritualists and her grandmother was a well known medium and healer.
As a teenager, Morgraine studied Egyptology and had a psychometry, where several lifetimes in Ancient Egypt were revealed.
In the late 1980’s, she joined the Fellowship of Isis and started their priestess training course.
In 1990,
she was initiated and in 1992, she was ordained as a priestess of Sekhmet. That same year, Morgraine was made a Dame
Commander of the Noble Order of Tara. In 1993, she became an Arbandraoi in the Druid Clan of Dana. In 1995, Morgraine
was made a Priestess Hierophant. The following year, the Berengaria Order of Druids was founded.
Queen
Mab herself gave Morgraine her faery name, though she doesn’t know why, but isn’t going
to argue with her!
Morgraine’s interests include flamenco, bellydance, crystals,
Egyptology, science fiction, music, reading, writing and art.
