An
Isis Rosary By Paul ‘The Mystic Fool’ Ingrassia
Bead Strand Configuration (design is
similar to a standard Catholic Rosary, with Wiccan, Isian, and other pagan influences): Charm (I use an Ankh, but any Goddess
related pendant or charm will do); three medium sized beads of different colors – for example: 1 white, 1 tan, 1 brown
(represent Maiden, Mother, and Crone respectively); 1 large bead or charm (I’ve used a Scarab bead and a pentacle charm)
forms an intersection for the loop (represents Spirit); 10 small beads (Goddess beads, use the color that suits you best);
1 large green bead (Earth); 10 small beads (Goddess); 1 large yellow bead (Air); 10 small beads (Goddess); 1 large red bead
(Fire); 10 small beads (Goddess); 1 large blue bead (Water); 10 small beads (Goddess).
Notes: A collection of beads, seeds, stones, coins, etc.
and two bowls can substitute for a Rosary. Simply fill one bowl with enough items in varying colors to represent the beads
of the rosary, and toss one into the other bowl for each prayer in the cycle. Also, choose colors that match with your usual
correspondences. The colors I mention are merely suggestions based upon my preferences.
Instructions: Create sacred space. Assume a meditative
posture (Lotus Position, sit in a comfortable chair, etc.). Start prayers with the (Ankh) charm, work up the string to the
spirit bead, then around towards the earth bead, then air, fire, and water, through the loop back to the spirit bead and down
the string to end at the charm again. Thus, the order of prayers is: charm, maiden, mother, crone, spirit, 10 goddess beads,
earth, 10 goddess, air, 10 goddess, fire, 10 goddess, water, 10 goddess, spirit, crone, mother, maiden, charm.
